Welcome to the ORIGINAL School-Based Conference !

Since our first conference in 2012, our goals have been simple: to share evidence-based learning that is 100% related to school-based practice and provide an opportunity for fostering real connections. In addition to high-quality, evidence-based presentations, it’s a chance to talk openly, exchange ideas, and connect with colleagues who truly understand your daily challenges. We hope you’ll join us to learn, share, and grow—together.

Call for Papers

Submission Deadline: September 25, 2025

This year’s theme, School-Based OT: Rooted in Occupation, Redefining the Possibilities, celebrates the foundation of our profession while encouraging forward-thinking approaches that expand what’s possible for the students and communities we serve.

We invite you to share your expertise, innovative practices, and research through paper presentations or poster sessions.

We welcome proposals that:

Highlight evidence-informed and occupation-centered practices in school settings
Showcase innovative tools and service delivery models
Address collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers
Explore advocacy, policy, and equity in school-based OT
Share emerging research, technology integration, or interprofessional approaches
Provide case studies or real-world application of best practices

Presentation Formats:

Papers / Oral Presentations – 30- or 60-minute in-person sessions, including time for Q&A
Posters – Visual displays of research, innovative practice models, or case studies

Submission Guidelines:

Title of your presentation/poster
Author(s) and credentials
Abstract (250–300 words) clearly describing the purpose, methods, and relevance to school-based OT
Preferred Format (Paper or Poster)

Notification of Acceptance: October 1, 2025

While every effort has been made to ensure that this conference meets continuing competency standards, participants are responsible for ensuring that this event satisfies the requirements for their particular situation and location.

The Best Practices in School-Based OT is coordinated by Careerfull LLC, a continuing education company and AOTA-approved provider of continuing education.

CONTACT HOURS

Anticipated Contact Hours: 6 per day / 12 for full conference

CE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS: To receive CE and a completion certificate, you will be required to:

Check-in at the beginning of each conference day and after lunch
Complete the course evaluation at the end of the period for which you registered (single day or full conference)
Participants not fulfilling these requirements will not receive a certificate. Failure to fulfill the requirements will result in forfeiture of payment and credit for the entire session. No exceptions will be made. Partial credit for a session is not available.

Upon completion of all requirements, certificates will be distributed within two weeks of the conference via U.S. mail or email.
